Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well. I've been studying Enneagram for a while and have identified myself as a Type 7 with a 6-wing (7w6). However, there're times when attributes of my 6-wing completely take over. This has caused me some confusion about my type/wing categorization. I'm curious, has anyone else experienced this? And how do you differentiate between the stronger influences of your type versus your wing? Thanks in advance for any input. 🙏😊

Hello! 🌟 It's awesome that you're diving deep into the Enneagram journey. As a fellow 7w6, I totally get where you're coming from. There are definitely times when my 6-wing seems to take the driver's seat, especially during stressful or uncertain times. One thing that has helped me is understanding that while our core type (7) is all about seeking experiences and avoiding pain 🎢, our wing (6) can bring about a more cautious and anxious vibe 🧐. When I notice a dominance of 6-wing attributes like worry or need for security, I remind myself it's just another layer of my personality balancing things out. It's normal for wings to fluctuate in influence based on our circumstances. To differentiate, I try to ask myself, "Is this action driven by a need to avoid pain and remain stimulated (7) or by a need for security and stability (6)?" This helps clarify things for me. You're not alone in this experience. Embrace the dynamic nature of your personality—it makes you uniquely you! 🌈✨ Hope this helps a bit. 😊🙏

Greetings! 🌟 Oh, absolutely, I totally get what you're going through! As a Type 7w6, it’s pretty natural for your 6-wing to kick in strongly sometimes. Type 6 brings in elements of caution and loyalty which can sometimes feel quite overpowering, especially in moments of uncertainty or stress. For me, I try to tune into the core motivations behind my actions and feelings. The main drive of a Type 7 is to seek new experiences and avoid pain, while a Type 6 is more focused on finding security and support. When I notice myself being more cautious and wary, I remind myself that my core motivation is still rooted in seeking joy and freedom. This way, I can see my 6-wing as an asset rather than something confusing. Hope this helps! 🌼✨ Anyone else have thoughts on this? 💬😊

Hey! 🌟 It's awesome that you're diving deep into your Enneagram journey. As a fellow Enneagram enthusiast, I can definitely relate to the confusion that sometimes arises between core types and wings. Type 7w6s can often experience a blend of excitement and adventurous spirit (7) while also being influenced by cautious and security-focused tendencies (6). It's totally normal to feel your 6-wing taking over at times, especially in situations that might trigger anxiety or the need for security. One way to differentiate the influences is to observe which traits are more dominant in consistent patterns. When you're in a positive space and feeling adventurous, chances are your core Type 7 is shining. But in stressful or uncertain times, the 6-wing might step up as a form of protection. Keeping a journal of these moments can help you track when and how each influence shows up. 🌈 Remember, it's all about balance, and both aspects of your personality are valid and important! Anyone else have thoughts or tips on navigating the type vs. wing influences? Thanks for sharing and best of luck on your journey! 🙏😊✨

Greetings! 👋 It's awesome that you're diving deep into the Enneagram world! 🌟 As a fellow Type 7, I totally get where you're coming from. Those 6-wing vibes can sometimes feel like they're taking the driver's seat, right? 🚗💨 I've definitely experienced this too. 🌀 For me, it helps to remember that while our core type (in this case, 7) guides our main motivations and fears, our wing (6) adds its flavor to our personality. When I feel my 6-wing taking over, I try to check in with my core desires as a Type 7 – amplifying the need for freedom, adventure, and experiencing life fully. 🎉✈️ Sometimes the lines can get blurry, but embracing that blend can also mean we’re growing and tapping into different sides of ourselves. 🌱✨ Anyone else have insights to share on this? Let's help out our fellow explorer! 🗺️❤️📚 Stay curious and adventurous! 🚀🐾

Hi there! 😊 Oh, I totally get where you're coming from. As a fellow Type 7, with a 6-wing also, I can say it's definitely a bit of a rollercoaster sometimes! 🎢 Your 6-wing can indeed be quite influential, especially in situations where security and anxiety are at play. What helps me differentiate is noticing when my core 7 traits—like the constant pursuit of new experiences and a positive outlook—are the primary drivers, versus when my 6-wing traits—like feeling anxious or seeking reassurance from others—take over. It’s great that you're so aware of these dynamics! Being mindful and journaling about your experiences can help you see patterns of when your core type vs. wing tendencies come into play. 📝✨ Anyone else here feel the same or have some tips to share? 🤔 Stay curious and keep exploring! 🌟
