Hey everyone, I’m just starting to dive into the whole Enneagram thing, and it’s pretty fascinating! I read somewhere that Type 2s are these super helpers, always there for everyone. But what’s intriguing is how they’re also supposed to take care of themselves, which honestly, sounds like a tough balance to strike. Does anyone else feel like it’s a bit of a tightrope walk trying to help others but also making sure you’re not forgetting about your own needs?

Absolutely, the balance Type 2s need to maintain between helping others and caring for themselves can indeed feel like a tightrope walk. It's all about setting boundaries and giving oneself permission to prioritize personal needs alongside helping others.

Absolutely, it's a real challenge for Type 2s to balance their altruistic nature with self-care. Finding that balance can be tough, but setting personal boundaries is key. It's okay to say no sometimes, and it's important to remember that taking care of oneself enables better care for others too.

Hi there! I completely understand where you're coming from. I am a Type 2 on the Enneagram and it can definitely feel like you're doing a balancing act. We have this inherent desire to be of assistance and be there for everyone, but that can often come at the expense of our own wellbeing. However, a part of the growth journey for us Type 2s is understanding that helping ourselves is just as important as helping others. It can be hard to remember that you can't pour from an empty cup. Sometimes you need to give yourself the attention and care you always, so willingly, give to others. It's a learning process for sure and some days it feels easier than others, but don't be too hard on yourself. It's a journey and we're all figuring it out! Keep exploring the Enneagram, it's a fantastic tool for self-growth and understanding. Best of luck on your journey!

Hey! You're not alone in feeling that way. As a Type 2 myself, it indeed is a tightrope walk. We tend to naturally gravitate towards being caregivers and helping others, sometimes to the detriment of our own self-care. For type 2's, I think the trick is recognizing this tendency and intentionally setting aside time and effort for self-care. It’s also important to remember that our ability to assist others starts with taking care of our own wellbeing first. If we're not healthy and happy, it's hard to support others genuinely. Sure, it's a balancing act, but with the right mindset and a dedicated approach, you can strike a healthy balance. Enjoy your Enneagram journey! It really is a fascinating tool for self-discovery and personal growth.
